Reaching 21 might seem to be the easiest thing in the world. But taking into consideration that any total card value of more than 21 will be a bust and an automatically lost game, the many high value cards (cards with the value of 10) is making the game a little more tricky. With all the 10´s in the deck it gets very easy to bust.

Follow these simple rules or guidelines when you start playing blackjack. They will help you increase your chances of winning.
First thing you should know is, that you must never buy insurance. If the dealer turns an up-card of an Ace, the dealer will offer “Insurance” to the players. This must always be avoided for the reason that it will cost you in the long run if you keep opting for the insurance.
You should never split a winning hand. If your hand is good enogh to win the round it is a bit presumptuous to split the hand to win even more. It is considered more safe to just play the good hand, as one winning hand is better than to hands that you only have a chance of winning.
You can also increase your chances of winning by choosing a blackjack table where the rules are in your favor. The more decks of cards used, the worse are your odds. Therefore you should choose a table, playing with just a single deck of cards.
If the table in general allows you to increase your bet when you hold a good hand, this is in your favor. Some casinos actually have rules that allow you to double the bet on every card combinations and not just on alikes – it gives you the advantage. In addition to this advice you should always split a couple of 7´s if the dealer has 7 or a card lower than that. Always split to Aces or two 8´s, too.
The Magic Blackjack Number
The number 17 holds some magic in the game of blackjack, as many players consider a hand total of less than 17 as a bad hand, og 18 and more are good hands with winning potential.
If you have 17 of more on your hand, the best advice is to stop and not ask for more cards. The exception to this is, if your hand is made up by a 6 and an Ace – which also totals 17 and is called soft 17.
On the other hand playing hands with less than 17 is plain optimistic in most cases. With less than 17 on your hand, you should always hit, ask for one or more cards.
